About the Founder of Worthy One Event Planning

Willie Mickell is a native of Chicago, Illinois with experience in planning events both within the Chicago Metropolitan area, at Northern Illinois University, and in his professional work at Ohio University. Willie takes pride in Event Planning, creativity, and production and his experience along with his professional abilities have enabled him to produce memorable events for various clients.

Mr. Mickell’s event planning experience includes various events such as music concerts, summer youth and sports camps, comedy shows, video game tournaments, and various types of parties like holiday, birthday, anniversary, and retirement parties. As an educator, his experience also extends into educational programs such as college prep and mentoring programs, student leadership training, emergency/crisis management, and special campus events.

Willie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Corporate Communication, an M.S. Ed in Sports Management, and an M.S. Ed in Adult and Higher Education, all from Northern Illinois University. As the first person in his family to receive a college education, Mr. Mickell jokes and prides himself on the fact that he acquired his unique event planning skills of creative preparation, planning and logistics — from his mother.
